Following an hours-long standoff with multiple law enforcement agencies and SWAT teams, an unidentified suspect was taken into custody late in the morning on Wednesday, June 29.
The 1600-1800 blocks of Druid Hill Avenue and the 1600-1800 blocks of McCullough Street were temporarily closed while police dealt with the barricade, though the roadways have since reopened.
No injuries were reported. Investigators have not disclosed what led to the suspect barricading inside the Druid Hill residence.
WJZ reported that it could be tied to an incident on Tuesday, June 28 where a Baltimore City police officer was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being dragged several blocks during a hit-and-run.
Charges against the suspect are pending, according to police.
More information is expected to be released as the investigation continues.
